Vail Colorado - Boating

Boaters might not expect to have much to do in Vail, but there are four major reservoirs within an hour's drive. The biggest is Dillon Reservoir a short drive to the east, offering two marinas and 3,000 acres of water. Green Mountain Reservoir to the northeast, and the Twin and Turquoise Lakes to the south also offer boat access.



Eagle River
The Eagle River, one of the upper tributaries of the Colorado, is easily accessible and has great trout and bass fishing.

Green Mountain Reservoir Lake Size:  3.3 square miles   
Green Mountain Reservoir is a nice fishing reservoir located on the Blue River.

Sylvan Lake Lake Size:  40 acres   
Sylvan Lake is part of a very scenic state park open year-round for campers, picnickers, boaters, and anglers.
