Climate
Mesa Verde is most pleasant to visit in spring and fall, avoiding both the heat and the crowds that come with mid-summer. Weather in the spring varies between snowfall and sunny days. Summer temperatures can reach the 90s, with occasional thunderstorms in July and August. During the winter the park can receive as much as four feet of snow, and many services are not available.
The climate information below is for Cortez, the nearest community to the park and about 10 miles from the park entrance.
