Dinosaur National Monument has two identities. The Quarry Area, contains a quarry with some 1,600 exposed bones from 11 different dinosaur species. Near the quarry is a short nature hike, a pleasant scenic drive, Indian petroglyphs, and the preserved cabin of a female homesteader.

Don't just walk the path of dinosaurs. Touch, feel, hear, and explore it at the new 22,000-square foot Utah Field House of Natural History State Park Museum opening June 2004.

Both sides of the Green River are preserved wild in the 12,150 acres of this refuge. Migratory birds such as the Great Basin Canada Goose find nesting grounds here. If birds are less interesting to you than animals of the four-legged variety, keep an eye out for elk, moose and otter.

The famous Douglass Quarry is the site of a whole wall of dinosaur bones, some of them complete skeletons. It's closed for renovations to make the building earthquake safe, but the address and phone number on this listing will help you reach the temporary visitor center in Jensen.

The BLM manages no larger waterfowl area in Utah than this. The marshes of the Green River are the setting for this diverse and bird-rich preserve - over 105 species of birds and mammals are here.

Starvation Reservoir is a large reservoir is set amidst low dry foothills. It features a campground with modern facilities, a sandy beach, boating, and year-round fishing.
