Summit Springs Battlefield
|
This is the site of an ambush on a group of Cheyenne and Sioux by the U.S. Calvary, back in the 1800s. It's on private land today, but hiking access is permitted and two monuments, as well as a couple of historical markers, are placed here. The battlefield is all plains and gullies, so it's an interesting walk terrain-wise, too.
