This trail enters the Buffalo Peak Wilderness at the saddle. Mountain bikes are prohibited in the wilderness.

Potable water at Weston Pass Campground. Backcountry water is at Rich Creek at end of trail.

Access is at the Weston Pass Campground, along County Road 22, which goes to Weston Pass, or from the Rich Creek Trail #616.
