Biking is popular in the spectacular scenery around Leadville, and there are a number of singletrack and shared-use trails in the area. Several of Colorado's long distance trails pass through the region as well. Mid-summer is the best season for biking to avoid the snow.



Hagerman Pass Mountain Biking Trail Beginner

Hagerman Pass is an old railroad grade that rises to the pass, almost 12,000 feet above sea level. The views both along the route and from the top of the pass are gorgeous.

Jenny June Loop Mountain Biking Trail Intermediate 12 mile loop 1 to 2 hours
The Jenny June Loop is a moderately challenging ride near the Cooper Ski Area, north of Leadville. There are no long climbs or descents, with the whole trail staying between 10,500 and 10,750 feet above sea level.

Wurt's Ditch Road Mountain Biking Trail Beginner 21 miles round-trip 2 to 3 hours
Wurt's Ditch Road is an easy trail through dense alpine forest at 10,000+ feet.
