This paved road climbs up from Aspen to the Maroon Lake parking area, offering a spectacular viewpoint of the famous Maroon Bells. These majestic peaks are one of the most photographed landmarks in Colorado. The road is closed to private motor vehicles during peak times, so bikers don't have to compete with heavy traffic. It is quite a climb up to the viewpoint area, but the result is well worth the trip.
