Long Draw Trail

This side canyon was originally named Devil's Slide by an early explorer of Black Canyon. Long Draw begins just northeast of Balanced Rock Overlook and leads to the river at a location downstream from the Narrows.

Park at Balanced Rock Overlook, then walk northeast to the bend in the road. The descent begins at this road. Pass through a small area of box elder at the rim and scramble down the gully to the river. Note the great wall on your left and the railing of Balanced Rock View on your right. Poison ivy can be found growing 5 feet tall along this route at the river.
