Fort Collins Colorado - Fishing

There are more than 60 miles of fishable water along the Cache La Poudre River near Fort Collins. Fishers can try their luck at catching several varieties of trout in the cold mountain waters.

Barbour Ponds Lake Size:  80 acres   
Barbour Ponds State Park offers a series of small ponds that feel surprisingly isolated given their proximity to the interstate and metro areas.

Boyd Lake Lake Size:  2.7 square miles   
Boyd Lake's sandy beach and seasonably warm water make it a favorite among windsurfers, water-skiers and swimmers.

Flatiron Reservoir Lake Size:  47 acres   
Flatiron Reservoir is a small reservoir stocked with rainbow trout that allows shore fishing only.

Horsetooth Reservoir Lake Size:  3 square miles   
Horsetooth Reservoir is a large, long lake west of Fort Collins. There is plentiful room here for fishing, boating, swimming, and camping, among other activities.

Lake Estes Lake Size:  185 acres   
Lake Estes is frequently stocked with rainbow trout, and also features a nearby golf-course, picnic areas, and boating/sailing opportunities.
