Dolores River - Slickrock Canyon

Among the most beautiful canyons in western Colorado, Slickrock Canyon is located between the towns of Slickrock and Bedrock. The river here cuts through steep sandstone cliffs, sometimes over 1200 feet high, winding through a rugged and isolated area.

Travelers can also take side canyon hikes to Native American artwork, dinosaur tracks, and spectacular overlooks. The occasional rapid breaks up the journey, but overall this section of the Dolores is peaceful.
