DescriptionThe Yampa River enters Dinosaur National Monument at Deerlodge Park and runs 45 miles to the confluence with the Green River at Echo Park. Along its entire length is pretty, deep canyon scenery. The river is mostly flat, though swift. It has a few Class 3 rapids rapids and a great Class 4 rapid -- Warm Springs -- which features one of the 10 biggest drops in the country. The season on the Yampa runs from mid-May to early July, with the greatest flows in May and early June.
