Only forty-five minutes from Denver, Clear Creek provides an ideal spot to sneak away for the day or just for the afternoon. Clear Creek flows from the Rocky Mountains down to its confluence with the South Platte River just north of Denver and holds a large population of both Rainbow and Brown trout. It’s a swift moving river were you can find many fish in the tail out of runs and behind big boulders that line the bank. Four and five weight rods are perfect for fishing Clear Creek while a three weight rod can still be fun for pulling in the scrappy trout you find throughout the river. While the average fish is 10 to 14 inches, occasionally we find some up to 16 inches.

In addition to the popular Clear Creek half and full day packages, Wide Open Colorado offers custom float trips and alpine lake excursions. All trips include various terminal tackle, weighted rods, reels, flies and waders when necessary. Wide Open allows a maximum of three clients per guide to ensure quality custom instruction and provides a gourmet lunch on all full day trips.
