Teocali Ridge is a real treat for riders looking for an extra aerobic challenge in the Crested Butte area. Teocali Ridge trail climbs and climbs, up dirt roadway and singletrack, through thick forest and alpine meadows.
The climb up Teocali Ridge becomes more difficult near the apex of the ride, becoming steep and difficult to navigate whilst on the bike. Hiking may be the mode of choice here for all but the very heartiest of lungs. Taking a break from the climbing, riders can enjoy the amazing vistas afforded by Teocali Ridge of the surrounding mountainsides. Once at the top, riders may find the downhill singletrack to be steep, loose and narrow.
Riders take note: dirt bikes are allowed on Teocali Ridge. Please ride accordingly.

While riding any trail system it is a great idea to include a repair kit and first aid kit. Teocali Ridge Trail is a multi-use trail and hikers, horseback riders and other trail users may be seen along the way. Please be considerate on the trails and understand right of way protocol. Teocali Ridge Trail is located in high elevation mountains and can experience sudden weather shifts, so riders should bring appropriate warm layers in anticipation of this.
From Crested Butte, go south on 135. Turn left on Brush Creek Road. Brush Creek becomes dirt. Continue about 5 miles to West Brush Creek Road. Park here and start riding. Be sure to cross the stream at the primitive campground to stay on the correct route.
