The Prospect Trail is a new addition to the trails in the Telluride area. Built in 2007, the prospect trail features a steady climb up the mountain and can easily be linked with other trails in the area.
The climbs are not too severe on the Prospect trail and the trail surface is quite friendly. Suggested trails to add to the Prospect trail include Alta Lakes and the Sunshine Trail.
Can loop with other trails in area

Can add additional trails in area to increase time
The Prospect Trail is multi-use so riders may encounter hikers, trail runners and other users and should follow right of way protocol when meeting other groups. The Prospect Trail is high elevation and can experience sudden weather shifts, so riders should bring appropriate warm layers in anticipation of this. In addition, riders should be prepared with a stocked repair kit, first aid kit and extra food and water. A map is a handy piece of equipment on the Prospect Trail. Pick one up in Telluride.
