Description

This is a gentle, easy ride that parallels Monument Creek and the interstate. The route meanders past an old railroad grade and over gentle hills to open grasslands, cottonwood and pine trees, and famous geological formations such as Elephant Rock.

Basic Directions
From Colorado Springs take South Gate Road to the Ice Lake trailhead to ride the trail south to north. To begin at the north end, take I-25 north to the Monument/Palmer Lake exit. Travel north on CO Hwy 105 past Palmer Lake and take a right on County Line Road. The trailhead is just ahead on the right.
