Horseback Riding

The Gittleson Family Cattle Company is an 11,000 acre multi-generational family working cattle ranch located in the town of North Park, Colorado; near Walden Colorado with beautiful views of the Never Summer Mountain range, abundant wildlife and easy access to two all-natural sand dunes bordering the ranch. The ranch truly has the best of everything.

The Gittleson family raise cow calf pairs and sells bulls. They enjoy sharing their ranching lifestyle and knowledge with all of their guests. The cattle working activities on the ranch are not staged, but required day-to-day.

  • Horseback Riding is an incredibly unique way to experience the terrain. Once you’re in the saddle, you’ll be able to enjoy a 1, 2 or 3 hour ride. Rides depart at 11 AM daily and include panoramic views of the Never Summer Mountain range with plenty of opportunities to photograph wildlife and nature at its best.
  • Cattle Drives are done on horseback and take between 3 and 5 hours (lunch included) the drive ends when the work is done. Take part in helping move cattle to better grazing. Cattle drives are available on Saturdays and Sundays starting at 8:30 AM. Call to check availability on alternate days.
  • Fall Roundups will take place in early September. Come help with the crucial work of gathering cow calf pairs from the mountain and bringing them down to the ranch. The roundup starting time is 8:30 AM. This is an all-day activity that includes lunch. Exact dates are known by August 1st. Hurry and book your spot as space is limited.
  • Ranch Branding is an all-day activity and includes lunch. First, the cattle are rounded up on horseback and brought to the corral. Then, the cows are sorted from the calves (roping and dragging are not involved). Finally, each calf is guided into a calf table and branded. Guests will have the opportunity to take part in every activity they wish from sorting calves to pushing calves up the alley to giving shots and even the chance to brand a calf. Brandings will be held on 06/30 and 07/01 and they start at 8:30 AM. Book now before this activity sells out.

Book a cabin, RV space or a tent site. The views are incredible and the ranch offers easy access to two impressive all natural sand dunes. Book your ranch adventure today!
