Basic Directions
Castlewood Canyon State Park
From Denver, Take I-25 South to Castle Rock. Take Exit 181 "Plum Creek Parkway". Go East on Plum Creek Parkway for 1.5 miles. At the four-way stop, turn right onto Lake Gulch Road. Follow Lake Gulch Road for 9.7 miles until it ends at Highway 83. Turn left on Highway 83 and travel North 3.7 miles to the park entrance on the left.

Located in the famous Black Forest of central Colorado, Castlewood Canyon provides trails for hiking. The ruins of the century old Castlewood Canyon Dam form the centerpiece of the park and hiking trails wind into the deepest regions of the canyon. While hiking on trails at Castlewood Canyon, guests can see scenic waterfalls and historic sites.
