Description

Cedar Pass Lodge is the only lodging in the park, ideally situated near the base of the famous formations called the Pinnacles, in Badlands National Park. This historic property first opened to tourists in 1928 and still offers families who want to overnight in the Park seasonal lodging in climate-controlled rustic cabins and cottages. Picnic tables are found nearby; there are no in-room phones or TVs, however. From here popular activities include hiking, bicycling, camping, motorcycling and birding. It is also an easy drive north to the infamous Wall Drug or northwest to Rapid City, Black Hills National Forest/Mount Rushmore, Deadwood's casinos and Spearfish.

Cedar Pass Lodge also offers tourists seasonal, on-site dining and a large gift/ convenience store. The Lodge is within walking distance, or a short drive, of the Park's Ben Reifel Visitors Center. There is free ample parking for RVs and coaches on site and Lodge overnight guests can park just outside their cabin door.

  • Open April-October
  • Guest rooms include: cabins with private baths, two bedroom cabins with connecting baths and cottages
  • Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner; unique fare includes Indian fry bread and buffalo tacos
  • On-site retail offerings include Native American crafts, handmade and regional gifts, apparel, groceries, camp supplies, and area souvenirs
