Rafters looking for a challenge can try their hand at a trip down the headwaters of the Arkansas. Pine Creek, also called "Rite of Passage," is a six-mile trip through continuous Class IV and V rapids, requiring riders to be experienced rafters and in good physical condition. The Numbers is a little less intense but still thrilling, with 8 Class III-IV rapids separated by continuous whitewater and a few plunges. These two sections can be floated either separately, or together for an intense full-day trip.
The Pine Creek section begins just outside the town of Granite on US 24.
