Description

The 50 Year Trail is sure to please intermediate level riders and above! Sandy trails give way to rock studded packed sand, technical ascents and descents, singletrack and several drops. Running along the foothills of the Catalina Mountains, the 50 Year Trail accesses a variety of downhill descents ranging from intermediate to advanced expert in difficulty.

A popular downhill area known as the ‘Chutes’, featuring cactus studded twisting trails, are laid out much like mountain chutes on a ski area trail map and are accessed off the northern most point of the 50 year trail. Several smaller loops can be accessed off the 50 Year Trail, including the expert Deer Creek Trail loop. In addition, trail distance can be lengthened by 4 miles one way by starting at Catalina State Park.
