Crested Butte Mountain Resort
Crested Butte Mountain Resort, tucked off the beaten path in the
Elk Mountains,
is a moderately large ski area catering to advanced skiers.
Nearly half the resort is taken up by "Extreme Limits," a steep
expert-only
area of ungroomed powder.
The resort has more double-black diamond terrain than any other ski
area in
the state. The US Extreme Skiing and Snowboard Championships are
held here annually.
