Description
Bent's Old Fort National Historic Site features a reconstruction of a trading post from the early 1800s, one of the few white outposts along the Santa Fe Trail. Visitors can take a guided tour of the fort, reconstructed from photos and diaries, or explore on their own. During summer months, "living history" performers recreate life at the old fort. Authentic livestock such as oxen, chickens, and Spanish Barb horses round out the historic atmosphere.Hours:
