Description

Sourdough is one of the most enjoyable singletrack trails in the Boulder area, perfect for riders of intermediate biking ability and above. A favorite of many Boulder locals, the Sourdough trail features steep and technical climbs and moderate difficulty descents along its length.

Sourdough starts with steep switchback climbing from the start, but levels out after a bit. The hard-packed dirt trails wind through shaded forest up to 10,500 feet in elevation. The occasional technical rock gardens that pepper the trail make for challenging climbing and fun descents. As the trail gains elevation the views to the Great Plains below become ever more impressive.

Sourdough is very popular on weekends and during peak riding hours of the day so riders should plan accordingly.
