The Lizard Rock Trail accesses the Brookside McCurdy Trail and the Hankins Pass Trail. Several loops, some large, can be made from, the end of the Lizard Rock Trail. Returning, this trail approaches a rock formation that resembles a lizard. thus the name "Lizard Rock Trail". It is located west and near the top of the trail.
Some of the loops would include the Lake Park trail, Brookside-,McCurdy trail. Hankins Pass trail, Goose Creek trail. McCurdy Park trail and Ute Creek trail. The wilderness boundary, is located at the end of the Lizard Rock trail. Ensure that you are familiar with wilderness regulations if you proceed into the wilderness.

Northwest of Colorado Springs.
The trailhead is located at the Spruce Grove Campground, of f of the Tarryall Road (City Rd 77) . Park at the Trailhead Parking, outside the campground, if you are not staying in the campground. Walk through the campground (stay right on loop) , pass the outhouse and across the bridge over Tarryall Creek. Make a hard left, passing through a boulder tunnel, to start on the Lizard Rock Trail.
