Description

The Elkhorn Lodge is a National historical designated property and has been up and running for 130 years of continuous lodging and guest ranch operations. It is the oldest guest ranch still operating in the entire Rocky Mountain Region, and the oldest continuously operating hotel in Colorado.

The Elkhorn Lodge is the only remaining guest ranch of its 1870's era, located just 2 blocks from Downtown, catering to plain folks wishing to enjoy Teddy Roosevelt's style of Western Hospitality and History.

Historical ambiance is our primary product rather than modern conveniences in our 30 plus structures, including lodges and cabins.

Enjoy Elkhorn's stables and trail riding, wilderness camping, no license required and equipment provided trout fishing, swimming, hiking in the National Park via Elkhorn's historical trails, shopping in Estes Park, or shoot some pool at our Cowboy Hayloft and Saloon.

The Elkhorn is a Rocky Mountain historical highlight. It is a Registered National Historical Property, located at the base of Man Mountain, a sacred vision-quest site, the oldest documented religious site in Colorado.

Experience simple old-West living. Our TV-free rooms and outlying cabins are rustic reminders of yesteryear, all renovated to the 1890's luxury of indoor bathrooms.

Grand Lake Grand Lake Grand Lake
Rocky Mountain National ParkAt the edge of Rocky Mountain National Park, Grand Lake is the deepest natural lake in Colorado, dipping to 265 feet. Fed by high mountain runoff, the lake is clear and pristine. In the summer, you can rent a boat, bring your own or simply enjoy the gentle lapping of the waves from the sandy shore. Grand Lake connects with Shadow Mountain Lake via a canal, and just down the road is Lake Granby, the second largest body of water in Colorado.
