Description

Tributary of the South Platte river, Clear Creek runs through north central Colorado for approximately 40 miles. Historically the site of Colorado's most intense gold rush boom, Clear Creek is the fastest growing river rafting venue in Colorado.

Most of the traditional rafting and kayaking on Clear Creek is found on the upper stretches, from where the river originates near Loveland Pass, past Georgetown and Idaho Springs along the I-70 corridor, and down Clear Creek Canyon to Golden.

After Golden, Clear Creek flows through the northwestern stretches of the Denver metro area, largely as an unexplored urban stream, before it unites with the South Platte near Thornton.
