We are a non profit Historic Site that has been here since 1862. We are the last home of Kit Carson and connected with the Santa Fe Trail. Boggsville was the home of Amache, daughter of Lone Bear, sub chief with Black Kettle from Sand Creek Masacre. She along with Rumalda Luna Boggs received the land and along with their husbands, John Prowers (Amache) and Thomas Boggs (Rumalda) formed the community of Boggsville. William Bent also owned land just north of Boggsville.

Boggsville is open during the spring and summer months and hosts two special events with food, music, pioneer demonstrations and tours. The site is open daily and group tours are offered by reservation. Annual activities at the site include "Boggsville Days", "Santa Fe Trail Day", and a "Boggsville Christmas" party.
