Description

Beaver Creek Mountain, opened in 1980, is a large ski resort in north central Colorado, the farthest west of the I-70 corridor resorts. With 14 lifts and over 140 runs, Beaver Creek has plenty of terrain to ski or board.

The World Ski Championships have been held at Beaver Creek twice so far, and the "Birds of Prey" Downhill Course has been praised as one of the best in the world. Unlike many other large Colorado resorts, however, Beaver Creek has a number of beginner runs, meaning even first-time skiers can find plenty of places to ski without being confined to "the bunny hill."

Between the town of Avon and the lodges at Beaver Creek Mountain, there are nearly a hundred places to stay. Beaver Creek averages over 250 days of sun each year.
