Description
From Beatty's Flats, Beatty's Trail 25 follows the Rito del Padre to the northwest while Pecos Trail 24 crosses the Padre following the Pecos River to the northeast. The first section of Beatty's Trail is in deep forest at the bottom of the river drainage. After the junction with Gascon Trail 239, Beatty's Trail continues north through heavy forest, climbing steeply to the top of the Santa Barbara Divide and the junction with Skyline Trail 251.

This trail is in the Pecos Wilderness. Motorized equipment and mechanized transportation, including mountain bikes, hunter carts, and chainsaws are prohibited.
Beatty''s Flats is heavily used and closed to all camping and campfires. Use existing campsites and pack out all your trash.
The trail is experiencing significant erosion along the Rito del Padre. Passage may be difficult for pack stock. The trail holds snow until early summer and is subject to frequent tree fall. Many of the sections of the trail are very muddy.
