Joe’s Ridge is a short and sweet ridge biking trail, located in the Book Cliffs by Fruita.
There is a small amount of climbing at the start of Joe’s Ridge, giving a good warm-up. Once the top of the Book Cliffs has been gained, the trail rolls along the ridge, offering excellent views of the Grand Valley Basin. From here, Joe’s Ridge spills out onto a fast and fun downhill, twisting downward on an even surface.
Part of the 18 Road area, riders to Joe’s Ridge can combine this trail with other rides in the area. Kessel Run is a suggested addition to this ride.
Can add laps to increase mileage
Time To Allow:
Joe’s Ridge is multi-use, so riders may encounter hikers, trail runners and other users and should follow right of way protocol when meeting others. It is suggested that riders frequent this area in the early morning during the summer months due to heat. In addition, riders should be prepared with a stocked repair kit, a first aid kit and extra water.
