Description

The Chimney Gulch-Lookout Mountain Trail is a great choice for riders of advancing beginner level mountain bike ability and above looking for a real aerobic grind up the face of Lookout Mountain.

Chimney Gulch-Lookout Mountain climbs steeply up a mix of singletrack and gravel, clearing 2000 vertical feet in just 2.5 miles. The switchbacks of Chimney Gulch-Lookout Mountain are tight and wind up the mountain through grass prairie and pine forest. Those that can take a break from the climb will enjoy the grand views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Once at the top of the climb, riders can choose to take the trail they just climbed as the downhill or they can take the Lookout Mountain roadway downhill for a quick retreat.
