West Valley Trail

West Valley trail is a popular horse and mountain bike trail that stays at nearly the same elevation. When used with the East Valley trail, it provides a nice loop trail with bridges and scenic views.

Permitted uses: Foot, horse and mountain bike

Location: Lory State Park near Fort Collins
Difficulty: Easy
Length: 5 mile roundtrip
Trailhead Elevation: 5,600 feet
Time to Allow: 2.5 to 3 hours
Season: Year Round

Lory State Park

Take U.S. 287 north from Ft. Collins through LaPorte, then turn left at the Bellvue Exit onto County Road 23N. Turn left again, go 1.4 miles and take a right on County Road 25G. Drive another 1.6 miles to the park entrance.
