Telluride is a large resort in the San Juan Mountains. The town of Telluride and the slopeside resort community of Mountain Village are linked by a free gondola, one of the many efforts the resort owners have taken to minimize the impact of thousands of tourists on this beautiful region.

The recently added Prospect Bowl includes over a thousand additional acres of backcountry skiing, further improving Telluride's reputation as one of the state's premier ski resorts.
