Taylor Pass

This is another trail with astounding scenery, although it's a tougher trail than some of the others in its general area. The route is rocky, the road itself is narrow, and you'll drive, partly, within a stream.

 The Basics

Difficulty: Intermediate
Length: 8.5 miles

 Directions

    From Taylor Park Reservoir
  • Drive Taylor Ridge Road (also FSR 742) for 17 miles.
  • Watch for signs for Taylor Pass and turn right, continuing to follow the signs.
    From Aspen
  • Turn onto Castle Creek Road from Highway 82.
  • Take Castle Creek Road south for 11 miles.
  • Take a left on Express Creek Road.
