Description
San Luis State Park and Wildlife Area, in the shadow of the Great Sand Dunes National Monument, is a unique wildlife-laden wetlands with approximately nine miles of easy hiking and biking trails. Waterfowl, shorebirds, songbirds and raptors fill the sky over this area most of the year. In addition, big game such as deer and elk can be seen roaming the surrounding ranchland. Basic Directions
Take Highway 160 west from Walsenburg for 60 miles. Go north on Highway 150 for 13.5 miles. Turn left on Six Mile Lane and drive straight for 8 miles and then drive north 1/8 mile to park entrance.
