San Jose del Cabo Travel Information

Elegant Spanish-style architecture graces the streets of San Jose del Cabo, Cabo San Lucas's comparatively quiet neighbor. Palm trees cast fringed shadows on the city's historic buildings. Wander San Jose leisurely to get a feel for this laid-back destination, the oldest city in the region.

Reliable sunshine and beaches beckon sunbathers, swimmers and surfers. Sandy white stretches east of San Jose, like Pueblo la Playa, are usually less crowded than the ones along the shores to the west. Fishing tours run regularly out of Pueblo la Playa for anyone itching to get a real catch.

Indulge your romantic urges with a horseback ride along the beach. Nature buffs can look for birds at the San Jose del Cabo estuary or slowly watch turtles lay their eggs on quiet beaches.

San Jose isn't party central, but with Cabo San Lucas only a short drive away, bright lights and packed bars are never hard to find. Visit San Jose for a relaxed version of real life at the tip of the Baja Peninsula.

San Jose del Cabo is 18 miles east of Cabo San Lucas.
