Russell Gulch is not a single gulch so much as many ones situated around a ghost town (named Russell Gulch). Make sure you have GPS before exploring, because there are many, many spur trails and you may end up lost. But there's plenty to see (even when lost). Old mines and mining equipment are everywhere and the views are excellent.Length:

Basic Directions
- From Central City
- Take Virginia Canyon Road from Eureka Street. You'll leave town via this road.
- This road is also known as the Oh-My-God Road and is an attractive route in itself - watch the scenery as you wind down to the town of Russell Gulch.
- Take a left on Upper Russell Gulch Road and start exploring the trails.
