Cache la Poudre River Up to Class IV

The Cache la Poudre River is the only Colorado river that has received the national Wild and Scenic River designation. This short river tumbles down from the north reaches of Rocky Mountain National Park through the Front Range, and passes through Fort Collins on its way to join the South Platte River.

This thrilling section of nonstop rapids is the highest part of the Colorado that can be rafted. Some of the most extreme and dangerous rapids in the state can be found in this stretch of the Upper Colorado, as its water races through narrow canyons, holes, falls, and whitewater of all kinds.

The Colorado begins to settle down after its tumultuous descent out of the high Rockies, and winds through beautiful mountain canyons and sandstone cliffs.


Colorado River - Shoshone Rapids Up to Class IV

For those seeking a thrilling raft trip, the Shoshone Rapids is a good option. Though short, this section offers six advanced rapids, including Tombstone, Baptism, The Wall, and Maneater.
