This road rises nearly half a vertical mile from the town of Golden to the Visitor Center at Golden Gate Canyon State Park. The route is paved but includes steep grades.

Mountain Lion / Golden Gate State Park Mountain Biking Trail Intermediate 7 mile loop 1 to 2 hours
This trail is a great way to see the beauty of Golden Gate State Park. There are some steep climbs and stream crossings, as well as access to a number of other biking routes.

Red Rocks/Dakota Ridge Mountain Biking Trail Intermediate 11.1 miles 1 to 2 hours
From Denver's famous Red Rocks Amphitheater, this route meanders among the massive sandstone buttes that give the area its name, then climbs up onto the Dakota Ridge for panoramic views of the whole Denver area.

White Ranch Mountain Biking Trail Advanced 9.2 mile loop 1 to 2 hours
White Ranch is an open-space park near Boulder with several dozen miles of biking trails. Some of the ascents are very difficult and technically challenging, but the views of Denver and the eastern plains are great.
