Pinyon Flats Campground offers 88 sites just north of the Visitor Center, with excellent views of the mountains and the sand dunes. The campground is open year-round, but water is turned off during winter and early spring. Campsites cost $12 per night.
Backcountry camping in the dunes or the mountains requires a free permit from the Visitor Center. A limited number of backcountry camp sites are available along the Little Medano Trail.
