Grand Lake Colorado Travel Information

Both Grand Lake itself and the surrounding Shadow Mountain and Granby Reservoirs are open to fly-fishing. Several varieties of trout as well as kokonee salmon can be found in the lakes and streams of the region.



Colorado River
The Colorado River starts from humble beginnings in north central Colorado to become one of the largest rivers in the state as it crosses into Utah. Wading, raft fishing, and shore fishing are all done at various points along its length.

Green Mountain Reservoir Lake Size:  3.3 square miles   
Green Mountain Reservoir is a nice fishing reservoir located on the Blue River.

State Forest Lake Size:  130 acres   
The Colorado State Forest offers visitors 71,000 acres of preserved forest, jagged peaks and alpine lakes.
