Weather information for the Durango area is provided below. Average temperatures, climate details and current forecasts are included.
Situated at the base of the San Juan Mountains, with the semi-arid desert of the southwest nearby, Durango in some ways gets the best of both climates. Winters are cold and the town receives over 70 inches of snowfall a year, but most of the time it is sunny and melt-off is rapid. Summers are pleasantly warm, as the temperature almost never reaches the 90s. Spring and fall are crisp and rainfall is rare; both are excellent times to visit.
