Durango Colorado - Boating

Vallecito Reservoir is the closest nearby boating area, about half an hour's drive northeast. There is no fee to use the boat ramp there.



Animas River
The Animas River flows south out of the San Juan mountains, passing through Durango and into New Mexico. It is popular among anglers for its great trout fishing.

Mancos Lake Size:  216 acres   
Mancos State Park offers trout fishing and wakeless boating at reservoir surrounded by the majestic San Juan Mountains.

McPhee Reservoir Lake Size:  7 square miles   
McPhee State Park is a mid-sized reservoir near Cortez, with convenient access to the Dolores River.

Navajo Reservoir Lake Size:  24.4 square miles   
Navajo Reservoir offers 23 square miles of water for boating and fishing, surrounded by beautiful scenery and rugged desert landscape.
