Cutthroat Castle Loop Mountain Biking Trail

This desert canyon bike route explores both the natural and man-made beauty of Canyons of the Ancients National Monument. The trail passes by Cutthroat Castle, an unexcavated Anasazi structure, before descending into Hovenweep Canyon and eventually returning to the main road near your starting point.

From Cortez, drive 19 miles north on US 666. Turn left at the "Hovenweep National Monument" sign onto County Road BB. Travel west for 17.5 miles to a dirt road and sign at the trailhead.
