Cabo San Lucas Travel Information
Yellow sands, sunshine warmed, slope gently into the blue Pacific at
Cabo San Lucas. Spread along the southwest shore of the Baja
Peninsula, this popular seaside getaway boasts all the tourist
amenities, from well groomed golf courses and manicured resorts to
sportfishing and scuba diving. There is no shortage of parties in
Cabo San Lucas, but for the wearied socialite there are plenty of ways
to get back in the groove. Kick back on deck with a day of charter
fishing on the Pacific. Day cruises around the coast offer a selection
of 'booze cruises', catamaran excursions and whale watching. If the
idea of gentle swell leaves you queasy, explore some of Cabo's
attractions beneath the surface. Dive with sea lions near the famous
arches at Land's End or join a guided snorkeling tour to make the most
of your mask. For those determined to tour the Pacific
independently, local operators rent out kayaks, canoes, fins (the sort
for feet, not for sharks) and surf boards. Catch a wave at one of the
beaches with breaks between Cabo San Lucas and neighboring San Jose
del Cabo. If the golf game gets called on account of rain, head
north to Reserva de la Biosfera Sierra de la Laguna for a brisk hike
or stick around Cabo and get married. Collectively, 'Los Cabos' -
Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo - cap the southwest shores of the
Baja Peninsula. Cabo San Lucas is 18 miles west of San Jose del Cabo
and 1059 miles from Tijuana.
