Buttermilk Ski Resort

Buttermilk is a small resort in the Aspen-Snowmass resort complex. While the large, big-name resorts surrounding Buttermilk would seem to be tough competition, this ski area carves out a name for itself by specializing in two areas.

Firstly, Buttermilk caters heavily to snowboarders. The world's longest terrain park is here, with two full miles of features including a superpipe, more than 30 rails, and beginner sections.

Buttermilk's other focus is on beginners. The resort's founder hoped to create slopes that would be friendly to newcomers to the sport, and started a world-renowned ski school here. Buttermilk is a great place to learn to ski, with runs ranging in difficulty from beginner slopes to expert downhill runs.

Other Ski Resorts in the area include Aspen Mountain, Snowmass, and Aspen Highlands. These can all be skied using the same lift ticket.
