Bill Moore Lake

The Bill Moore Lake trail is a short but very pretty route up to Bill Moore Lake, this road leaves from the town of Empire just off the interstate. A few steep sections and some loose rock make high-clearance 4wd vehicles a necessity. The scenery at the high-altitude lake is spectacular.

Location: North of Empire, in the mountains near Denver
Setting: Rocky mountain valley and lake
Surface: Dirt and gravel
Difficulty: Difficult
Length: 6 miles
Time to Allow: 1 to 1.5 hours
