Antelope Island is a 75 square mile mile island of low mountains, grasslands, marshes, and sand dunes in the Great Salt Lake. It provides the best access to the lake. Though Antelope Island is relatively close to the dense population center of the Wasatch Front cities, it exhibits a real sense of remoteness and isolation.

There is a marina, visitor center and restaurant as well as some picnic areas, a swimming beach with showers and two primitive campgrounds.

It has white sandy beaches, a marina, covered picnic pavillions, and a campground. There is a very good network of trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding. For bike rental information click here. A herd of bison roam the island, and, of course, antelope too. Best of all are the great views out over the lake. Most days end with a spectacular sunset.

A seven mile causeway (Hwys 108/127, Exit 335 off I-15) just south of Ogden provides access.

The Historic Ranch House is open the same hours as the park. Food service is available during the summer and on weekends in Spring and Fall. In the Salt Lake area, you must dial 322-3770 for camping reservations (not 800-322-3770).
